The bay is popular for kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and rock pooling too. The small coastal town has several pubs and eateries on the doorstep. Ramble along the coastal path to pretty Mortehoe or cycle along the traffic-free Tarka Trail. Horse riding and hang gliding are available for more adventurous visitors. Ilfracombe (five miles) is a bustling town with shops, parks, a theatre, restaurants and boat trips from the harbour. Kids will love the Wildlife and Dinosaur Park at Combe Martin.
