The popular seaside town of Bude sits on the border of Devon and Cornwall at the mouth of the River Neet. It is well known for its wide golden sands at the delightfully named beaches of Crooklets and Summerleaze which has a natural saltwater swimming pool. In contrast to the rolling surf at Widemouth Bay, the calm waters of the Bude Canal provide quiet walks and bicycle rides along the scenic towpath.
When you have had your fill of sunbathing, surfing, shopping and coastal walks, explore the extensive collection of toys at the Wonder Years Toy Experience. The Leisure Centre provides entertainment for all ages with crazy golf, table tennis and tennis courts or you can spend the day at the Splash undercover water park with its flume and wave machine. Ten pin bowling, golf, horse riding, balloon flights, surfing and shark diving are just some of the adventures you can enjoy from a Bude holiday cottage.
The Victorian Bude Castle with its battlements is now the town's Heritage Centre and local museum. The Castle Tearooms are just one of the many places to dine in Bude, with beautiful views from the Lower Wharf. More delights await visitors at pretty Clovelly and Tintagel Castle or ride the largest rollercoaster in Devon at the Milky Way Adventure Park.
