The market town of Holsworthy is surrounded by rolling Devon hills that are grazed by woolly sheep and the odd stray Dartmoor pony. The market square (more of an elongated triangle in truth) is surrounded by butchers, bakers, pubs and small supermarkets. The Pannier Market and W.I. stalls on Wednesdays are the social hub for local gossip while farmers exchange tales at the thriving cattle and livestock market on Thursdays.
