The School House, Brendon is a historic Victorian building now transformed into a five bedroom three bathroom holiday home for 13 guests. The large open living / dining room has ample space for relaxing in front of the woodburner and watching Sky TV. There’s a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, opening directly onto the terrace. For entertainment, look no further than the piano and ping-pong table. Guests can enjoy quiet time in the cosy snug which has a double sofa bed. Downstairs there’s a double bedroom with ensuite, a triple bedroom with bunk beds and a single and another bathroom. Upstairs there’s an elegant four-poster bedroom, a double, twin room and another bathroom.
After a day in the outdoors, meet up together for drinks, conversation and shared laughter on the terrace with stunning valley views. Fire up the barbecue and cook local lamb steaks or fresh trout.
Surrounded by scenic Exmoor countryside, The School House, Brendon has walks from the door. Walk to the village of Brendon for meals at the Staghunters Inn after a day of river fishing or riding in open countryside. Visit Porlock, a delightful coastal village with restaurants, pubs, tea rooms and a Visitor Centre. Pretty Lynton and Lynmouth offer a museum, cinema, harbour and independent shops. Hike the Two Moors Way, visit National Trust Arlington Court or stroll to Watersmeet for tea in the National Trust riverside garden. Beaches include nearby Sillery Sands accessed by a steep zig-zag path, Combe Martin cove and Ilfracombe’s Tunnels Beach.
