Peep O Day, West Buckland is a charming Grade II-listed thatched cottage that welcomes you through an impressive entrance hallway, steeped in history with its striking ship carving salvaged from the Lady Young, wrecked at Hope Cove in 1879. The bright country kitchen and dining room features large period windows flooding the space with natural light, equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, and fridge / freezer, alongside a dining table for six overlooking the traditional cottage garden. The generous lounge boasts wonderful painted original beams, comfortable seating arranged around a cosy wood burner, a Smart TV, and patio doors opening to the garden, while a beautiful window seat offers the perfect reading nook. A utility room provides a washing machine, tumble dryer, and plenty of storage space for outdoor gear, with access to a separate WC.

Stepping outside, an enclosed traditional cottage garden features a patio area with garden furniture, whilst a small private courtyard at the rear catches the morning sun, complete with a bistro set. Upstairs, three bedrooms provide restful accommodation: the master bedroom offers a king-size bed, large windows overlooking the front garden, and an en-suite shower room, while two further bedrooms (accessed via five steps) comprise a cosy twin room and another generous king-size bedroom with exposed beams and a wonderfully intimate cottage atmosphere. A family shower room with large walk-in shower and WC serves the additional bedrooms, and the landing features stunning historic stained glass windows. Allocated parking for one car is provided, with ample roadside parking available in the village.

Picture crisp mornings curled up in the window seat with coffee and a good book, the wood burner crackling gently as light streams through period windows. Spend sun-filled days exploring nearby coastal paths and golden beaches, then return to your thatched retreat for long evenings gathered around the dining table, sharing stories of the day's adventures whilst the garden gradually fades into twilight beyond the patio doors.
