Relax on leather sofas in the living room of this renovated three-storey Victorian home with wood flooring, a log burner and more superb views from the bay window. It flows into the spacious dining room with a table for meals and card games in the evening. A well-appointed kitchen with breakfast table, four bedrooms and two bathrooms sleep 8. The first floor has a double room, bathroom and king-size bedroom with double shower in a recess while the top floor has two twin bedded rooms beneath the roofline.

The Cottage, Westward Ho! gets full marks for location being within walking distance of the sandy beach and having private parking for three cars. Restaurants, pubs, cafes, shops and the seawater pool are all nearby. Go surfing and kiteboarding in the waves, walk the South West Coast Path enjoying the scenery or head to Northam Burrows. Nearby Appledore has quaint streets lined with tiny galleries, shops and cafés. The larger town of Bideford, one mile away, has supermarkets, parks and a quay where boats depart for Lundy Island (booking required). Families can enjoy the Big Sheep farm attractions and rides at the Milky Way Adventure Park.
