The lake is a Dark Sky Discovery Site so visit at night for amazing stargazing. Bampton Fair is held in late October with a street market, crafts, concerts and entertainment. Pretty Dulverton and Dunster (with its wool market and National Trust castle) are worth a visit 18 miles away and bustling Minehead has a lovely sandy beach and shops.
