Renovated thatched stable offers rustic holiday accommodation with rural valley views

Set in a bucolic landscape, The Manger, Welland has interrupted views down the serene Yarty River Valley. This renovated thatched stable has three bedrooms and two bathrooms for five guests . The rustic interior has beamed ceilings in the sitting room and original stable partition walls in the spacious dining kitchen. It is well equipped with dishwasher and washer-dryer, making life easy for families. Beneath the sloping roof there's a double bedroom, a double master ensuite and a single bedroom, along with a modern family bathroom. Outside it boasts an acre of grounds and ample space for parking.

Tea on the lawn, or drinks on the deck? Relax with a glass of wine in a choice of sunny spots while kids frolic in the meadow or play table tennis in the cider barn.

Accessed down a winding driveway, The Manger, Welland is surrounded by country walks along the river with its weir and salmon ladder. Walk ankle-deep through bluebells in early summer and apple orchards in autumn. Frequent local farm shops and the famous River Cottage HQ and Canteen in Axminster. There's a Post Office and cafe a mile away in Membury, a noteworthy pub at Dalwood and the Axe Valley Wildlife Park on the doorstep. Browse the shops in the lace-making town of Honiton (nine miles) or head to the beach in Lyme Regis which also has a golf club, harbour and Jurassic Fossil Museum.
