Across the Tamar Bridge is Plymouth with a modern shopping centre and historic Barbican, Mayflower Steps and Plymouth Gin Distillery. The nearest beach is Portwrinkle, on Whitsand Bay, nine miles away. Walk the coastal path around Rame Head to Kingsand or visit Mount Edgcumbe Country Park.
