Set in an idyllic spot overlooking the bay, Mariners Cottage, Mousehole has an inviting living room with sofa, dining table and logburner in the stone inglenook fireplace. The spacious kitchen has marble worktops, dishwasher and a full range of appliances, pots and pans. There's a tumble dryer in an out-building. Once a fisherman's cottage, this 17th century property has been fully renovated with two refurbished bedrooms (a king-size master ensuite and a twin) with white beams and two newly fitted bathrooms on the upper floors. The oval freestanding bath tub is designed for a well-earned soak with a glass of bubbly after a day's hiking or exploring.
The real star of this cottage is the water's edge garden with its comfy outdoor furnishings and low stone wall. Relax with a glass of chilled wine and gaze out across Mounts Bay from this enviable private space.
Mariners Cottage, Mousehole is a short walk from the village pubs, cafes and harbour. Take a boat trip and appreciate this stunning coastline or walk the coast path to neighbouring Newlyn or stunning Lamorna Cove, both about two miles away. Penzance has plenty of interesting buildings on the High Street and a little further around the bay is Marazion. Walk the tidal causeway to St Michael's Mount (National Trust) and enjoy the rock gardens and historic home. The artists colony of St Ives (13 miles) has narrow winding streets, beaches and Tate St Ives. Land's End and PK Porthcurno are well worth a visit.
