Cousham Cottage is an authentic Grade II listed cottage in the coastal village of Cawsand. Nicely updated it has a tiled lobby, stable doors and good-sized living room with woodburner. The cottage-style kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, washer-dryer, granite worktops and slate floor. There’s a rear hall for storing beach gear, a shower room and a bathroom. Climb the narrow stairs with rope rail to a king-size double and a twin bedroom and peek into the landing cupboard to see the smuggler’s tunnel!
Sit out on the neat terrace suntrap sheltered by whitewashed walls and enjoy the peaceful village atmosphere. Between the rooftops there’s a glimpse of the sea just a short amble away.
Cousham Cottage was the former village sweet shop in Cawsand. Along with Kingsand, these adjoining villages are known for their quaint pastel-painted cottages, winding streets, smuggler’s pubs, art studios and scenic coastal location. Watch Cornish gig racing on the bay or explore neighbouring Mount Edgcumbe Country Park with its historic house, gardens and shingle beach. Walk the South West Coast Path along the Heritage Coast to the derelict chapel on Rame Head. A passenger ferry runs across the Tamar estuary from Cremyll to Plymouth, or take the Torpoint car ferry to explore the Barbican and Hoe attractions.
