2 The Sands, Praa Sands is just a short walk from the mile-long white sandy beach along a well-trod footpath through the dunes. The local beach community includes a Golf and Country Club, post office, general store and several eateries. Check out the historic pill-box lookout. It was built on the cliffs but coastal erosion means it is now on the beach. Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are many coastal walks nearby. Marazion is five miles west with a tidal causeway to National Trust St Michaels Mount house and gardens. Families can spend the day on rides at Flambards Theme Park (seven miles) or Paradise Wildlife Park and Jungle Barn.
