Sink down onto cushioned sofas and enjoy the scenic views through the open door leading onto the balcony of this delightful snug retreat. There's a king-size four poster with TV in the bedroom and an ensuite bathroom. Fully refurbished, the apartment is accessed down a flight of stairs and was a former boat chandlers. Parking (£7 daily fee) is at the nearby Caff Mill Park and spaces can be reserved by phone.
You won't want to leave the peaceful furnished balcony with its delightful views of passing boats, the Bodinnick ferry and waterside properties across the broad river.
Barnacles is in the heart of Fowey (pronounced Foy) with its historic buildings, marinas and working harbour. The town constantly hosts a range of events and festivals such as the Daphne du Maurier Week and the Royal Regatta. Narrow streets hide independent shops, galleries, old pubs and cosy restaurants all just a short walk form the door. Head out along the cliff tops to sandy beaches such as Readymoney Cove one mile away, tucked beneath the centuries-old St Catherine's Castle. Take boat trips upriver or fishing charters and bring back freshly-caught mackerel for supper.
