Located in Delabole within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Horseshoe Cottage charms visitors with its beamed ceilings, 250-year history and fireplace with cosy woodburner. The floors are covered with grey Delabole slate (surprisingly warm to walk on!) from the local slate quarry which the area is famous for. Relax by the open fire in the comfortable sitting / dining room and make use of the well-equipped kitchen for prepping meals and picnics. Climb the stairs to find two bright and spacious bedrooms and a modern bathroom.
After a day exploring the North Cornwall coast, the sunny outdoor patio and Herbery is the perfect place to catch the last rays of sun. Chill out sipping a local cider or chilled Cornish wine.
Horseshoe Cottage is a great centre for exploring nearby attractions including Tintagel Castle (three miles), The Camel Trail (seven miles), Treligga Downs and lovely Port Isaac, famous for TV's Doc Martin. The coastline has a host of surfing beaches, the nearest being Tregardock, a two mile walk or drive away. You'll want to explore the village of Delabole and take a fascinating tour of the oldest working slate quarry in England. It once had its own railways and has been worked continuously since the 15th century – history indeed! Don't miss the Delabole Carnival in July – one of the biggest in Cornwall.
