Light, bright and modern, Gwithian Lookout, Gwithian is a three bedroom, two bathroom lodge perfectly located with views of Godrevy Beach and lighthouse. Granite worktops and a comfy dining area make this a great social space. Two mezzanine areas accessed by ladder create quiet spaces for teens to hang out. The king-size master bedroom with ensuite has doors to the patio and sea views. There's a double bedroom, a single and a shower room.
Pick your way barefoot along paths through the dunes as you head to the sandy beach for a morning stroll or swim. Make use of the outdoor shower before tucking into brunch on the private terrace.
Gwithian Lookout overlooks Gwithian Sands, one of the best surfing beaches in Cornwall. At low tide the sands extends to Hayle Towans and Godrevy Beach (National Trust). Neighbouring Carbis Bay is a sheltered sandy cove with Blue Flag waters while St Ives has three more stunning beaches. Visit Tate St Ives (it has a superb top floor cafe) and the Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden. Walkers and birdspotters can hike the coast path to Godrevy Lighthouse or Hayle. Head down to Marazion (nine miles) and walk the tidal causeway to St Michaels Mount (National Trust) with its rock gardens. Historic Penzance is also worth exploring.
