Situated in the centre of the village of Braunton, The Old Police House is just that. It’s the former village nick and police residence for the village bobby. With four bedrooms, the cottage sleeps nine people. It has been carefully renovated to bring it up to date while retaining many of the original features. The ground floor bedroom, fitted with bunk beds, was the cell of the old station and it still has the cell door with observation hatch. Also on the ground floor is a large kitchen and dining area which join onto the utility room. The sitting room has plush sofas and a large TV, making it perfect for a relaxing evening in. Upstairs, there are three more bedrooms, a king, a double and a triple, which can also be set up as super king and single. The family bathroom has freestanding bath and separate double shower.
The garden is little haven that can be reached from the utility room or the inner hallway and has two decking areas where you can relax, or you can enjoy a meal cooked on the barbecue.
The Old Police House is located in the heart of the village of Braunton, surrounded by village shops, surf shops, traditional village pubs, contemporary restaurants, bars and cafes. A three-mile drive leads to the fabulous long sandy beach at Saunton, which is backed by Braunton Burrows, a vast area of sand dunes, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For golf enthusiasts, there is a course close by.
