Dashel Cottage, Countisbury is a former stable, now converted to a luxury three bedroom, three bathroom holiday cottage on Exmoor. Exposed beams and Velux windows add character to the first floor. Two king-size bedrooms (one downstairs) and a twin room, all ensuite, sleep six guests. The bright open-plan living room is warmed by a woodburner and includes a dining table and corner sofa with lovely views from multiple windows. The well-equipped white kitchen has everything you need including a double oven and a dishwasher for clearing up afterwards.
Bask in the sunshine on the south-facing patio with garden and moorland views. It’s a lovely spot to unwind with a good book while children enjoy the freedom to play and explore the fields nearby.
Dashel Cottage, Countisbury is well located for walkers on Exmoor and both the South West Coast Path and Coleridge Way run through the farm. Walk to the “Old Burrow” circa 50AD and see the Roman encampment earthworks or visit Lee Abbey sandy beach six miles away. Being on the Devon / Somerset border provides easy access to Lynton and Lynmouth, the nearest towns for shopping, attractions and restaurants. Further along the coast, Porlock has three pubs overlooking a pebble beach and Minehead (13 miles away) is a bustling resort. Don’t miss Dunster’s historic village, Yarn Market, shops and well-maintained NT castle!
