What a setting! Bishop Rock, Lizard Lighthouse has amazing sea views and a cosy ambience in the sitting room which has a deep squishy sofa and electric fire. The modern dining kitchen has everything a modern lighthouse keeper needs including a dishwasher. Wake up to sea views each morning from the king-size double bedroom or twin bedroom, both with wood floors and sea views. There’s an enclosed courtyard as a sun trap and parking for one car.
During your stay, book a lighthouse tour and see what’s at the top of the lighthouse and learn the history of this working lighthouse which was established in 1619. Now managed by Trinity House, it has an impressive 26-mile range and a fog signal in misty conditions (ear plugs provided).
Bishop Rock, Lizard Lighthouse is on the Lizard Peninsula, the southernmost tip of the UK mainland with coastal walks, flora and fauna right outside the door. Lizard Village with its shops, restaurants and friendly pub is within easy walking distance. There are several sandy coves nearby. Visit Land’s End and St Michaels Mount via a tidal causeway. The narrow streets of St Ives lead to sandy beaches, a harbour, art galleries, pubs and The Tate St Ives.
