At the end of a private lane in pretty Branscombe village, Hamilton House is ½ mile walk through fields beside a stream to pebbly Branscombe Beach. The peaceful cove has rock pools, tea rooms and a shop. No need to cook – Branscombe also has two pubs both serving excellent meals. Explore the parish church, National Trust owned Manor Mill, Old Forge and the thatched Old Bakery tea rooms. The coastal footpath leads to the chocolate-box village of Beer two miles away which has underground Quarry Caves. Visit the regency resort of Sidmouth (eight miles away) with its shops, cafes and Donkey Sanctuary.
