Just one mile from the Eden Project, The Ark Cottage is a traditional Cornish cottage in a wooded river valley location. The modernised accommodation includes an open plan kitchen with dishwasher and a cosy sitting room with open fireplace and logburner. The glazed entrance porch/utility room serves as a pleasant garden conservatory for reading and sipping cocktails before dinner. Climb the stairs to the cosy double bedroom with peaceful woodland views through the window. Also on this level there’s a modern shower room. Outside the cottage has a pretty lawned garden with furnished patio.
Listen to birdsong as you relax in the peaceful garden or explore nearby footpaths in search of primroses and bluebells in spring. Enjoy the idyllic woodland setting and wildlife at any time of year.
Drive along the wooded lane to Ark Cottage and make use of the off-road parking. The path leads up steeply to the cottage entrance and gardens. Walk to the Eden Project and avoid the lengthy queues for parking in peak season. It’s an interesting attraction with exotic plantings in huge biomes. Visit the fascinating Shipwreck Museum and see tall-masted schooners at the historic port in Charlestown – a popular place for filming period dramas including Poldark, two miles from the cottage. Tour the St Austell Brewery three miles away and plan days out at Fowey or quaint Mevagissey.
