Glanville House is a couple of minutes’ walk from the higgledy-piggledy streets of Mevagissey which are lined with gift shops, pubs, a museum and takeaways. The working harbour is alive with fishing boats and pleasure craft offering coastal cruises and mackerel fishing trips for catching dinner. There’s even a regular ferry to Fowey, another historic coastal town worth visiting. Walk the coast path or go swimming in the sandy cove at Portmellon, less than a mile away. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Charlestown harbour and the Eden Project are fun days out for all ages.
