This rural cottage is the ideal escape from the ratrace with no TV or mobile phone signal but there is a landline available and plenty of books, jigsaws and games.

The nearest hamlet to Poocks Cottage, Oare is Malmsmead which has a local shop and good food at the Lorna Doone Arms where you can dine-in or order a take-away. Porlock has several pubs and grocery shops along with an informative Visitor Centre. Pretty Lynmouth and Lynton are seven miles away. Browse the shops, restaurants, harbour and riverside walks. National Trust Watersmeet is a popular place to enjoy afternoon tea in the woods. Dunster Castle and delightful thatched village is 12 miles away and often hosts festivals and events while Minehead has a lovely beach and promenade.
