Bude Golf Club is less than a mile away and surfers will find a good choice of beaches for honing their skills. Explore nearby Maer Lake, a wetlands nature reserve popular with nesting birds or walk along Bude Canal spotting wildlife. Hartland Abbey with its gardens and the steep streets of Clovelly are worth visiting (17 miles away). Take a helicopter ride to Lundy Island or take the MS Oldenburg from Bideford Quay.
